Trial Yarns : various weights
|
|
We will be adding new yarn types frequently, so keep checking in with us.
If you are looking for the 2/56 and 2/60 trial yarns, their popularity was overwhelming and we are happy to stock them at all times. CLICK HERE for these yarns, called Norie and Frassie.
TRIAL YARNS
We have taken our time, done our homework, searched high and low and are now ready to start offering gossamer weight yarns. It was very important to us to find high quality yarns suitable for heirloom projects ones you spend up to a year or more of your life making.
In house in trial quantities. Before we name them, we want to track how each is received, which will dictate what we will stock up on - so for now they will be affectionately referred to by their ply weights.
2/80 Trial yarns two versions now in stock!
We are pleased to offer 2 additional trial yarns for your review. Both of these gems are 2/80s. They are astoundingly fine at almost 44,000 yds/kg, or the equivalent almost 20,000 yds/lb. This further equates to about 1243 yds/oz or 44 yds/g! Perfect for a ring shawl.
ORDER BELOW

2/80 C - 100% cashmere (click for larger photos in a new window)

2/80 MC - a blend of 70/30 extrafine Merino/Cashmere
A more comprehensive review can be found in our Spring 2010 newsletter.
Available in NATURAL only, 900 yard BALLS or 100 yard samples for $3.50
(on each yarn detail page you have an option to choose the sample skein instead)
Knit up (see swatch pics; 1.5mm/US 000 needles) these yarns have an
incredible halo, great drape, and a soft hand. They blocked beautifully.
Definitely not for speed knitting but if a ring shawl or other project requiring a super cobweb is on your list of to-dos we hope you will consider one of these lovelies.
