Kayla : lace weight

Meet Kayla – a truly classy base of 100% spun silk in a heavier lace weight of 20/2. If you enjoy knitting with Zephyr (our JoJo), a 2/18 weight, you will be right at home with Kayla as it is only the slightest bit finer.
If you want sheen (see picture) and drape, both noted qualities of silk, than this is the yarn for you!
Remarkably well behaved on the needles with no splitting etc. and off – Kayla blocks like a DREAM and RETAINS its shape exceedingly well. We have sent it to several of our favorite knitters to get some feedback, and the reviews have been very favorable indeed.
Again a note on color – ALL FIBERS TAKE DYE differently. We unfortunately cannot show you every color on every fiber combination. Our method of dyeing is very scientific (I was a research chemist for 20 years, hard to ‘lose’ those genes). We dye by formula, not by eye balling color. If we did the later, each helper I use would see things differently. Hence, the same formula will look slightly different (lighter/darker) on different bases.
Currently available in 600 yd skeins – we will be adding 1200 yd skeins in the future. |
